South Wingfield & District Riding Group consists of a number of people who enjoy learning about, owning and caring for horses. We aim to improve our knowledge of equines, have some fun trying new things and most importantly help each other. SW&DRG is affiliated to British Riding Clubs and members receive a quarterly BRC 'Rider' magazine and discounts with their BRC membership card. Membership is payable annually...

The club holds meetings on the second Monday of every month, where we organise guest speakers or demonstrations for our members. We are a friendly bunch and strive to help and support each other with ideas and practical advice. We hold a show every year for our members and have also organised a very popular Le Trec 'pairs' competition for the last few years, which has also been open to non-members.

The group regularly organises fun rides and social events during the year and in 2012 the group will organise clinics for members with Jane Portas who is based at Wingerworth and Becky Mullan-Feroze who is based near Ripley. Clinics are financially subsidised by the group for SW&DRG members. Jane has also co-ordinated Quadrille musical rides in the past which have been enormous fun for both spectators and participating riders!

We have arranged a number of clinics with other local instructors for XC, show jumping, western riding and showing. If one of our members has a suggestion the committee is happy to try and get the event organised or support members as they organise their own event. Several members have offered to organise rides in the local area.

Our members range from people who simply enjoy learning about horses but no longer own their own, to the 'happy hackers' and people who enjoy competing with their horses and ponies at various levels and in several disciplines.

SW&DRG members are given a password to access the Member's Area of our website. As a member you will be able to access information about organised events, training and competitions specifically for our members. There are also contact details for the committee, a member's forum, a for sale/wanted section and a useful links page.
