South Wingfield & District Riding Group consists of a number of people who enjoy learning about, owning and caring for horses. We aim to improve our knowledge of equines, have some fun trying new things and most importantly help each other. SW&DRG is affiliated to British Riding Clubs and members receive a quarterly BRC 'Rider' magazine and discounts with their BRC membership card. Membership is payable annually...

XC training at Newton with Rupert. Tuesday 28th October
After everyone had such a good time in the early Summer we have booked in again for XC training sessions. There will be 1.5 hour long lessons for small groups of 4- 5 rides.
The cost will be in the region of £25 - £30 per rider which includes course hire and Rupert's fee. I will know exactly how much it will cost once I know how many people are coming.
Penny needs final numbers by 24th October. Please book in, either at email@example.com or 07748997131 asap.
Pleasure Ride: Miller's Dale and Pennine Bridleway Sat 25th October
This ride takes a loop to include some of the Pennine Bridleway. 11 miles ish, steep, stony and slippery in places. Very little road work, crossing some busy roads. Water crossing.
Not a ride for beginners or nervous riders; although it is the "Pennine Bridleway", the terrain is not suitable for all.
For more details and/or to book in please contact Hetty by e mail on firstname.lastname@example.org
SW&DRG Monthly Meeting
Monday 10th November 2014 at the South Wingfield Miner's Welfare, 7.30pm
The group regularly organises fun rides and social events during the year and in 2014/15 the group will organise clinics for members with Jane Portas who is based at Wingerworth and Becky Mullan-Feroze who is based near Ripley. Clinics are financially subsidised by the group for SW&DRG members. Jane has also co-ordinated Quadrille musical rides in the past which have been enormous fun for both spectators and participating riders!
We also try to include our junior members in fun events such as Polo trips and mounted games.
We have arranged a number of clinics with other local instructors for XC, show jumping, western riding and showing. If one of our members has a suggestion the committee is happy to try and get the event organised or support members as they organise their own event. Several members have offered to organise rides in the local area.
Our members range from people who simply enjoy learning about horses but no longer own their own, to the 'happy hackers' and people who enjoy competing with their horses and ponies at various levels and in several disciplines.
The Member's Area of our website contains information about organised events, training and competitions specifically for our members. There are also contact details for the committee, a member's forum, a for sale/wanted section and a useful links page.
For further details about the group please contact the club secretary on the email address below, or to join download the membership form here
